Communication

Key School and Training Center makes every effort to clearly and accurately communicate with our Knight families. This includes several weekly and quarterly send home and email communications full of important updates, school happenings, student performance, recognitions, upcoming events, and more.

How We Communicate

FACTS

– FACTS Serves as a primary email communication tool to send to the Key School population. Our teachers use FACTS for classroom attendance, grading, emailing, disciplinary action, and to track a student’s learning profile and individualized instruction.

– Important communication is sent through FACTS via email and occasionally Parent Alerts which result in an immediate text to the primary guardian(s) on the student’s account.

Knightly News

– This is a weekly newsletter that goes out each Wednesday and serves as a school-wide newsletter that is emailed to parents, grandparents, staff, and board members. The Knightly News is the hub of all important news, events, resources, student shout outs, and updates for Key School and Training Center.

Class DoJo and Quarterly Curriculum Updates

– Class DoJo is used specifically for our Lower School families to have access to in class updates from the teacher as well as weekly newsletters related to curriculum, lower school dress up days and events, and direct communication with the lower school staff.

– Our Upper School sends out through FACTS a quarterly newsletter that outlines the curriculum of each nine weeks and what middle and high school students are focusing on in the classroom. It may also include useful technology tips and skills for completing work at home.

Student Organizer

– The student organizer is a daily tool that our students use in and outside of the classroom for any school flyers and immediate notices our parents may need. We always encourage parents to take a few minutes each night to go through their student’s organizer.

Emergency Communication

– As a tool in FACTS, we utilize ‘Parent Alerts’ for immediate, text message notifications pertaining to any crisis or emergency situation that may impact the safety of our students, staff, building, and geographical location.

Key School App

– The Key School app is a “one stop shop” for every Key School family to have quick access to anything on our website. Parents can access grades, Knightly News, club information, event flyers, nurse’s corner, and so much more by utilizing the features of the Key School app. We use push notifications for immediate notices and user friendly features to navigate resources and Key School information.

Social Media

– Key School has profiles on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube where we post public information as it relates to the Key School and Training Center communities at large. We use social media to bring awareness, build community, celebrate milestones, promote events and fundraisers, and show off our unique school.
