Senior Activities

Each fall, Seniors go on a field trip to take their Senior picture in interesting places around the DFW area. It’s a great team bonding experience.

Every year visits are planned with various colleges for our students to visit and we also receive visits from colleges who come to speak to our students. Some colleges we visited in previous years include

  • Schreiner University
  • Texas Wesleyan University
  • Tarleton State University
  • Lincoln Tech
  • Beacon College
  • TCC
  • Dallas Baptist University
  • University of Texas – Arlington

The Upper School Prom is a highly anticipated event and a night of fun. All Upper school students are able to attend but Senior receive additional recognition. It’s a fun night for students at a off-campus facility.

NEW this year, high students were able to purchase letterman jackets. This tradition will continue to grow as new options are added and students earn additional badges.

Whether you drive or not show your Senior Spirit by painting your designated spot!

Last year we added class rings for the Seniors. This year, Junior and Seniors were able to purchase rings and they received these rings at a special ceremony for them. The Seniors also received a pin in honor of graduating.

National College Decision Day Ceremony!! Seniors commit to their post graduate pathway by signing a board communicating their post graduate choice. This is a fun ceremony that all division students get to attend and celebrate our senior class.

  1. Senior Skip Day – We encourage the Seniors to do something as a class on this day – go to lunch, visit a museum or a park, but something as a group during their last week at Key School.
  2. Senior Breakfast – We load the school van with your Seniors and heading to Ol’ South Pancake House in Fort Worth for a class breakfast!
  3. Lunch with the Juniors – Senior and Juniors enjoy a time together to talk about traditions and next step and get a chance to visit before the Seniors Last Day
  4. Senior Walk – Seniors will wear their cap and gown and walk the halls of Key School one last time. The OAKS Library will be open for them to set up their Senior table before the Senior Walk.

The Key School Commencement Ceremony is as unique as it is special!   Each graduate speaks about the experience they have had throughout their education journey. Graduates also choose one special teacher to speak on their behalf. This is just one of the many traditions that make Key School exceptional!

Students create a personalized board to tell their story with likes and dislikes, favorite activities and family/friend pictures. These are displayed during Senior Week and at graduation.

Key School Seniors are awarded Endorsement Cords for additional classes that focus on content in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM), Arts & Humanities, Business & Industry, Public Service, and Multidisciplinary.

After graduation, we ask that you stay in touch and let us know how you've been doing since graduation!
